Blame was written in the heart of summer with an upbeat tempo, tuneful vocal melodies
and edgy guitars. The first half of the song has a classic Shybits feel, but then transforms
into a more complex and refreshing outro section accompanied by a synthesiser which is
a added element in our progressing direction. This is a good example of where we are
taking our sound.
Blame captures elements of heartbreak and self reflection. Lyrically about a breakup &
regret but carried with an optimistic twist in the vocal melodies and coupled with a slightly
darker, colder edge from the syths and minor sections. We wanted to work with a
producer on this record to acheive a more impactful result production wise, and we feel
we achieved that by collaborating with Michael Scheiner & Fabio Buemi on Blame.
